BRISK WALKING
Promoting healthy lifestyle and active citizenry by bringing residents of all races, religion, gender and age groups together through brisk walking and other related activities.

About the BWC
The BWC programme was initiated by the North West CDC and to date, presently there are 109 clubs and more than 26,400 members. The BWCs are formed at Residents' Committees (RC), Neighbourhood/Management Committees (NC/MC) and the members are residents of all age and race from both the heartlands and private estates.

Each BWC will organize their own regular excursions at places such as the Bukit Timah Nature Reserve, East Coast Park, Sungei Buloh, etc.

Besides Brisk Walking, the North West CDC also works with the Singapore Sports Council, Health Promotion Board and other grassroot organisations to promote a more holistic lifestyle through health talks and sports events such as gate ball and line dancing.

Monthly Healthy Lifestyle Walk
In addition to the regular brisk walks organised by BWCs, the CDC also organises Monthly Healthy Lifestyle Walks to encourage more residents staying in the private estates to participate in brisk walking.

The programme kicks off with the residents going through a 10-minute warm-up session, followed by a walk in the surrounding peaceful neighbourhood and some light refreshments after the walk.
