Apart from providing job assistance services for the unemployed residents, our Job Assistance Unit also provides training opportunities for unemployed residents. We have trainings such as: Prepare, Place and Train (PPnT) A programme that prepares job seekers without prior working experience in Retail, Hotel, F&B, Healthcare or Tourism industries, where they will be sent for a 3-days Job Preparation Workshop conducted by the various training providers before sending them to job interviews. Employability Skills System(ESS) Prepare job seekers for jobs by offering training in essential skills needed at the workplace especially in the ever-changing economy. These skills are relevant to the workplace environment and can be used in any industry. The ESS consists of 3 types of series: Workplace Literacy Series (WPL), Workplace Numeracy Series (WPLN) and Workplace Skills Series (WPS). You can find out the level of your literacy and numeracy through the Computer Adaptive Tests which is available at our Woodlands Civic Centre Service Centre.Upon completion of the assessment, you can be referred for ESS training programmes. Trial and Place (TRiP) Programme A programme that looks into helping job seekers to try new scope of work and allay their fears of attending interviews as well as allowing employers to assess the capabilities and attitudes of job seekers before offering them actual employment. Singapore Workforce Skill Qualifications (WSQ) WDA has developed an integrated continuing education and training system known as the Singapore Workforce Skills Qualification (WSQ) system. It is catered to working adults and complements the pre-employment training delivered by our schools and education institutions like vocational institutes, polytechnics and universities. WSQ benefits everyone, including individuals without academic qualifications.
